Now I bet you are wondering what those New Years Resolutions are? My New Years Resolutions are about changing into a better and healthier person. Each one of the three resolutions will hopefully create a better and successful me.
The first resolution is not to allow a compression fracture in my back in 2001 from holding me back. To help with this I went to the chiropractor for the first time to see if he could help. After a round of x-rays, he said it was healed and he felt that he could help me. After an exam and a couple of adjustments, I was almost completely pain free.
I never really knew how much pain I was in. Being in pain doesn't make life fun and exciting. It makes a person irritable and short tempered. I was that. I was short with people including my family, friends and most importantly my wife. I want to be a person that my family and friends are happy to know and enjoy spending time with. I feel like that is me now.
The second resolution is to get into better shape. This resolution really started in November, with my gym membership. I try to go to the gym two or three times a week or make sure that I walk to as many places as I can in town to help stay fit. The weather, work, and holidays don't always make that possible, but I'm not backing down.
My wife and I are really enjoying working out and getting into shape. It makes us feel like we are doing things right, so we can live a long and prosperous life together. I know like the first resolution, when you are in good shape and feeling better, you are enjoying life and excited about everyday. Every time I work out I feel just a little better and know that it is making me a healthier person.
Finally, My third and final resolution is to eat better and drink more water. Like many other people, I have a problem with not just eating the wrong things, but also I overeat. I am trying my best to eat more fruit and vegetables. This is not alway easy, it is way to easy to eat fast food or open a bag of chips. My wife and I are making it a priority to have more fruit and vegetables in the house and not to eat fast food as often.
With drinking more water, this is probably the hardest thing for me. It is so much easier just to grab that can of Mt. Dew or Pepsi, than get the bottle of water. Plus water seems so simple. Well, it is and that is want makes it good for you. So I am doing more of that by limiting the amount of soft drinks I drink.
As you can see, these are three good resolutions and I am going to continue to make them happen. Mostly because of the love and support of my wife. If we encourage each other, we know we will be better off and will live a long, prosperous life together.
